Addressing presspersons in Dharwad on Wednesday, Director of IIT Dharwad Venkappayya Desai stated that the convocation can be held on the institute’s campus at Chikkamaligwad on the outskirts of Dharwad. Director of IIT Goa Dhirendra Katti would be the visitor of honour.
Prof. Desai stated {that a} complete of 227 candidates, 164 B.Tech, 30 M.Tech, 13 MS and 20 doctoral, will obtain levels throughout the convocation.
And, meritorious college students will obtain two gold medals and 7 silver medals, he stated.
“The President of India Gold Medal can be offered to Pomaje Rishabh Sharad from the Electrical Engineering Department, whereas the Director’s Gold Medal can be given to Abhiram Okay. from the Engineering Physics Department,” he stated.
Prof. Desai stated that Agrim Jain from CS, N. Sanjeev from EE, Eluri Harshita from Mechanical, Jatin Lather from Engineering Physics, Kaushik Shivanand Powar from E&C, Jashwanth Polimera from Aerospace Engineering and Karthikeya Kumar Singh from Aerospace Engineering can be receiving silver medals throughout the convocation.
He stated that the Union authorities has sanctioned the Sam Manekshaw Centre of Excellence for National Security Studies and Research to IIT-Dh, which can deal with strengthening India’s defence capabilities and fostering indigenous innovation, together with defence purposes in nationwide safety.
Dean of Infrastructure Planning System Amarth Hegde stated that the Union Cabinet has sanctioned ₹2,200 cr to IIT-Dh below Phase 1 B for infrastructure growth on campus.
Utilising these funds which can be launched within the subsequent 4 years, extra tutorial blocks, labs, analysis and growth centres, college and workers housing, out of doors sports activities infrastructure, inexperienced power and different initiatives can be taken up, he stated.
