Air India flight’s 2nd black field recovered; cockpit voice recorder to assist probe

Both the black containers from the wreckage of the ill-fated Air India flight 171 have been recovered because the probe into the accident continues.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) said in an official launch, “Chairing a high-level review meeting at Circuit House, here Dr Mishra discussed ongoing relief, rescue, and investigation efforts with senior officials from the Central and State Governments, AAIB, and Airports Authority of India.” 

“Officials confirmed to Dr Mishra that the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) have been located and secured,” it mentioned.

The AAIB has launched an in depth investigation, and the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is conducting a parallel probe beneath worldwide protocols, because the plane is American-made, the discharge said.

After visiting the location of the crash, Mishra mentioned, “I’m very pained by the enormity of the tragedy. Everybody is unhappy. It is our responsibility to share grief and specific our emotions for the victims.”
