Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Minister Satya Kumar Yadav on Saturday (September 13, 2025) wrote a letter to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had criticised the TDP-led NDA authorities for “privatising” authorities medical faculties beneath the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mannequin.

Dismissing the allegation, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav accused Mr. Jagan of deceptive individuals. He clarified that beneath the PPP mannequin, the federal government retains management of the tasks, whereas personal companions convey within the required sources. Privatisation, alternatively, means handing over tasks fully to personal entities, he mentioned.

Explaining why the PPP route turned obligatory, the Minister recalled that the YSRCP authorities had proposed establishing 17 new Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) at an estimated price of ₹8,480 crore, however spent solely ₹1,451 crore in the direction of payments.
