BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of constructing immature feedback towards Armed Forces

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s credibility is at stake, citing the Supreme Court’s remarks in the course of the listening to of a prison defamation case associated to his December 2022 feedback on Indo-China border tensions.

At a press convention, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia stated: “Such immature, anti-Army, and demoralising statements made with none proof or information, particularly when our Army was engaged within the Galwan incident, increase critical questions. Why does Rahul Gandhi make such statements? This is an enormous query. And it’s a query about his credibility.”

“The query arises: Does India deserve a extra accountable and higher Leader of Opposition? As a Leader of the Opposition, who has taken an oath underneath the Constitution to safeguard the sovereignty of our nation, is he destroying that very sovereignty? …is he serving to the nations that are inimical to our nation? Is he demoralising the courageous Indian armed forces?” the BJP chief requested.

Quoting the Supreme Court’s remarks, Mr. Bhatia alleged that this was not the primary time Mr. Gandhi had displayed “such an anti-India” mindset. He referred to a different defamation case involving feedback by the Congress chief about V.D. Savarkar.

“We all know that the commission-hungry Congress failed to acquire Rafale jets for 10 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi made certain that the Air Force obtained these plane. Displaying comparable immaturity, Rahul Gandhi used inappropriate language for the Prime Minister. Subsequently, the Supreme Court’s choice affirmed that the addition of Rafale jets strengthened the Air Force and was in India’s nationwide curiosity,” Mr. Bhatia added.
