Book Sanatana Sanghi lawyer for assault on CJI: Thirumavalavan

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi founder Thol. Thirumavalavan on Monday condemned a lawyer, who he described as ‘Sanathana-fanatic’ for throwing an object (which he mentioned was a ‘slipper’) at Chief Justice of India Justice B.R. Gavai, throughout a listening to within the Supreme Court in New Delhi. He demanded the lawyer be arrested below the Unlawful Activities Prevention (UAPA) Act.

In a press release, Mr. Thirumavalavan mentioned the wrongdoer shouldn’t be allowed to follow as a lawyer henceforth. “We study the wrongdoer who threw the slipper had mentioned India wouldn’t tolerate disrespect to Sanatana Dharma. We can conclusively say from this episode that he was a Sanatanist Sanghi,” he mentioned.

Mr. Thirumavalavan mentioned that the Chief Justice of India, Justice Gavai ‘has imbibed the ideology of Revolutionary Ambedkar’ and the act of throwing a slipper was ‘an act in opposition to the Indian Constitution’. “Moreover, this incident has insulted your entire judiciary. This is yet another proof that the high-handedness of Sanatana forces is rampant throughout the nation. In these circumstances, it’s the want of the hour for democratic forces to unite as a way to uproot Sanatana.”

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Okay. Selvaperunthagai demanded that ‘acceptable authorized motion have to be taken in opposition to these concerned’ and that variations of opinion in a civilised democracy ought to be ‘expressed via debates, authorized means, and peaceable strategies’.
