Burglars decamped with 65 sovereigns of gold jewelry, two kgs of silver objects and ₹20,000 money from the home of a retired Block Development Officer (BDO) at Ponnur village close to Vandavasi city in Tiruvannamalai on Saturday.

Police stated that the sufferer, Okay. Appavu, 68, and his spouse, A. Nirmala Kumarai, 63, a retired instructor, have been residents within the village. Along along with his spouse, Appavu went to his daughter B. Priya’s home in Chennai on September 10.
