“Paddy harvesting in the course of the ongoing kharif season will start within the second week of October, and the Godavari area will witness early graduation of harvesting,” Mr. Manohar stated whereas addressing the stakeholders of the erstwhile East and West Godavari districts right here.
Mr. Manohar stated, “In the 2023-24 kharif, the earlier authorities had procured barely 29 lakh MT of paddy. The NDA authorities has procured 35.94 lakh MT in the course of the earlier Kharif, with fee assured inside 24 hours.”
On Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy, Mr. Manohar stated the Centre had introduced ₹2,389 for A-grade number of paddy and ₹2,369 for the widespread grade per quintal.
Mr. Manohar additional stated that the federal government was dedicated to supplying high quality high quality rice to the 41,000 authorities colleges for the Mid-Day Meal programme and 4,000 welfare hostels.
As many as 691 rice mills and 1,234 Rythu Seva Kendras had been roped in for paddy procurement within the Godavari area. “We have focused to acquire 19.50 lakh MT of paddy within the Godavari area alone — 4 lakh MT in East Godavari, 5 lakh MT in West Godavari, 3 lakh MT in Kakinada, 4 lakh MT in Eluru and three.5 lakh MT in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district,” stated Mr. Manohar.
