INDIA bloc events are united in demanding a dialogue in Parliament on the voter roll revision train in Bihar as you will need to defend the voting rights of all Indians, Leader of Opposition within the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge stated on Wednesday (August 6, 2025).

At a joint press convention at Vijay Chowk, Mr. Kharge claimed that minorities, Dalits and adivasis are going through the chance of shedding their voting rights. “INDIA bloc parties want discussion in Parliament on special intensive revision of (SIR) electoral rolls in Bihar but government is unwilling,” the Congress president stated. 

“We have been urging the speaker, chairman and the government again and again that the voting rights of people should not be stolen…. That is what is happening in the SIR exercise,” he stated. 

Referring to the statements from the federal government and Chair in each Houses that the functioning of the Election Commission of India can’t be mentioned in Parliament as it’s an unbiased constitutional physique, Mr. Kharge stated all the pieces below the solar will be mentioned. 

“We want to have an opportunity to discuss it… They are in a way trying to cast doubt on the citizenship of individuals,” he stated.  Trinamool Congress chief Sagarika Ghose stated they are going to proceed protests inside and out of doors Parliament over the SIR problem, and likewise increase considerations over “attacks” on Bengali-speaking individuals in BJP-ruled States.
