Security guards on the jail, positioned in Colvale space, on Tuesday discovered seven balls containing 1.397 gm of the contraband, valued at ₹1.4 lakh, within the premises, Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta instructed reporters on Wednesday.

An investigation indicated that 4 individuals, together with a minor boy, threw the ‘ganja balls’ within the jail premises from outdoors the compound wall within the wee hours of Tuesday, he stated.
The police have arrested Gautam Talwar, Samuel Pujari and Jaffer Mulla, all from Mapusa city in North Goa, and apprehended the juvenile on this connection, the official stated.
The accused have been booked below provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the police added.
