Severe waterlogging hit Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh after heavy rain.

Delhi woke as much as heavy rain on Saturday, August 9, resulting in waterlogging in a number of elements of the town. A video shared by information company ANI confirmed extreme waterlogging in Punjabi Bagh, one of many capital’s upscale neighbourhoods. IMD predicts extra showers

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast “thunderstorms with rain” for Saturday, with the utmost temperature anticipated to hover round 33°C and the minimal close to 25°C. In its newest bulletin, the IMD warned of “reasonable to heavy rainfall accompanied by reasonable thunderstorm and lightning with gusty winds of 30 to 40 km/h” throughout Delhi and the National Capital Region.

On Friday, the town recorded a most temperature of 36.2°C, which was two levels above the seasonal norm, and a minimal of 26.8°C, barely under common for this time of 12 months.

Alerts issued for Himachal Pradesh

While Delhi grapples with its share of monsoon showers, the IMD has issued an orange alert for August 11 and 12 for 3 districts in Himachal Pradesh, alongside a yellow alert for the remainder of the hill state. The climate workplace has warned of continued rainfall that might exacerbate the already tough circumstances within the area.

Monsoon toll within the hill state rises

The ongoing monsoon has taken a heavy toll on Himachal Pradesh. Since June 20, official figures report 202 deaths in monsoon-related incidents. Of these, 108 fatalities have been attributable to rain, floods, and landslides, whereas 94 folks misplaced their lives in highway accidents triggered by slippery and broken roads.
