Addressing the party workers at his office here on Saturday (May 16, 2026), Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy said, “As part of energy conservation measures, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu cancelled Mahanadu in SPSR Nellore district on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I urge the CM and youth leader Nara Lokesh to organise the Mahanadu in our district next year.”
“All the district leaders wanted to make Mahanadu in a way that would surpass Nara Lokesh’s Yuvagalam Padayatra and create history. We wanted to organise it like a never-before event. But unfortunately it was cancelled. The CM is implementing the ideas of Prime Minister in the present scenario of this country. Mahanadu is being organised away from the hustle and bustle,” he added.
Similarly in another press conference on the same day, Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy said, “Initially, all the district leaders were very happy that we got the opportunity to host the Mahanadu. As part of the austerity measures, we agree with the decision taken by our party leader to organise the event in a hybrid manner for the interest of the state.”
She further said, “We would all be ready to conduct the Mahanadu whenever the party working president give us the opportunity. We will work tirelessly for the development of the Kovur constituency. The CM, who is following in the footsteps of the Prime Minister, has come forward with the idea of starting a savings movement from A.P.”
