Nepal’s interim authorities types probe panel to analyze Gen Z protest deaths

Nepal’s interim authorities led by Sushila Karki on Sunday (September 21, 2025) fashioned a three-member probe committee headed by a former Supreme Court decide to analyze the ‘Gen Z’ protests during which 72 folks have been killed and led to the toppling of the Okay P Sharma Oli authorities.

Besides former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki, former extra inspector basic of police Bigyan Ran Sharma and authorized professional Bishweshwor Prasad Bhandari are members of the probe fee, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal instructed reporters at Singhdurbar Secretariat.

The probe fee has the mandate to submit its report back to the federal government inside three months, he mentioned.

The formation of a high-level probe fee to analyze the killing of protesters in Kathmandu on September 8 and 9 was one of many key calls for of the Gen Z group.

The Gen Z group on Saturday demanded the arrest of Mr. Oli after which Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak over their alleged function in a shootout that killed 19 folks throughout the anti-government protests on September 8.
