Drishyam 3 trailer: Georgekutty has new secrets as Mohanlal returns to the hit thriller franchise

The first trailer for Drishyam 3 has been released, bringing Mohanlal back as Georgekutty in the latest chapter of director Jeethu Joseph’s acclaimed crime thriller series. Set after the events of Drishyam and Drishyam 2, the trailer hints that Georgekutty may have escaped conviction, but the psychological fallout of the case continues to haunt him and his family.

The footage opens with renewed public attention around the infamous investigation that once engulfed Georgekutty’s household. Media voices describe him as impossible to decode, while police officers acknowledge that he always seems several steps ahead of them. Despite this, Georgekutty appears increasingly shaken.

The trailer avoids revealing the exact trigger behind the reopening of the case, though it suggests fresh evidence has surfaced, forcing investigators and the media to revisit the murder mystery that defined the earlier films. Georgekutty is repeatedly shown monitoring developments on his phone, anticipating danger as pressure mounts around him.

The film also sees the return of Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil as Georgekutty’s family members, alongside Siddique, Asha Sharath and Murali Gopy.

Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the Drishyam franchise has become one of Indian cinema’s most successful thriller properties, spawning remakes across several languages, including Hindi, Korean and Mandarin.

The Hindi adaptation, led by Ajay Devgn, is also preparing for its third instalment later this year.

Drishyam 3 is scheduled to release in theatres on May 21.
