Nellore Municipal Corporation intensifies crackdown on unauthorised constructions

In a transfer to accentuate the crackdown on unauthorised constructions, Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) is taking a number of steps to place a verify on street encroachments, unlawful buildings and buildings within the metropolis.

NMC Commissioner Y.O. Nandan on Thursday requested the officers to clear the street margins encroached by retailers within the neighborhood of A. C. Subba Reddy Vegetable Market close to Madras Bus Stand.

He requested the officers to observe the market usually and forestall the re-establishment of outlets by distributors on the roadside, inflicting site visitors disruptions. Apart from encroachments, the NMC can also be cracking the whip on unlawful constructions.

Acting on the Commissioner’s orders, the Town Planning Department officers on Wednesday demolished three buildings in Venkataramapuram and James Garden areas that had extra flooring in-built violation of the laws.

“Notices have already been served and demolition orders handed over to the house owners for the elimination of unauthorised buildings that have been constructed in violation of constructing permits. The constructing house owners introduced that they’d take away the unlawful buildings themselves and sought time for it. However, they didn’t take away the unlawful buildings inside the stipulated time. Hence, the method of eradicating the extra-storey buildings was initiated by the Town Planning Department,” Mr. Nandan instructed The Hindu.

Earlier, the Commissioner instructed the Planning Department officers and Ward Secretariat Planning Secretaries to determine the buildings which were constructed with out constructing permits on the pillar stage and take away the buildings.

Last week, three under-construction residences have been recognized with out permits in Haranathapuram Extension space. He requested the constructing house owners to cease the development works instantly. Charge-sheets have been filed in opposition to the house owners of three different buildings being constructed past permits.

The Commissioner ordered to determine the buildings used for industrial functions with out acquiring occupancy certificates, and difficulty notices. He directed the officers to take away the unauthorised flex signboards, together with ads and different campaigns on the roadside.
