Owner of saree store amongst two arrested for assaulting lady thief

The City Market Police have arrested a material service provider and his assistant for assaulting a lady for stealing a bundle of saree in public view. The accused later handed her over to the the police. The stolen merchandise was recovered and he or she was remanded to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the assault was recorded by one of many store keepers on his cell phone and uploaded on social media which went viral.

The video clip reached the members of Kannada Rakshana Vedike members who taking objection to the assault staged a protest demanding motion towards the accused.
