Raj Thackerays cartoon targets Amit Shah, son, over Indo-Pak match

Drawing a cartoon on the Pahalgam terror assault and the current cricket match held between India and Pakistan, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief and cartoonist Raj Thackeray on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) focused Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his son Jay Shah. The BJP strongly condemned Raj Thackeray over his publish.

In the cartoon shared on his social media handles, victims of the Pahalgam assault are depicted mendacity on the bottom, whereas two males try and wake them, saying, “Please rise up, guys! We have received, Pakistanis have misplaced!” One of the boys, sporting garments marked ‘ICC’ is seen as a reference to International Cricket Council chairperson Jay Shah. Beside him stands an individual resembling Amit Shah, proven folding his arms and standing silently. The cartoon options the query within the background: “Who really received? Who really misplaced?” In his publish, the cartoonist has used the hashtags Pahalgam, Kashmir, BCCI, ICC, Asia Cup, India VS Pakistan, cricket.

On Wednesday (September 17, 2025), Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar hit again at Raj Thackeray over his cartoon. He stated, “A cartoonist reveals his artwork in numerous methods. I consider that the artwork of any artist must be appreciated. But whether it is political, then a political reply should be given. I want to remind Raj Thackeray what he spoke after Operation Sindoor. Op Sindoor was opposed by everybody. But what our Army did was unparalleled. All these individuals are fearful of Jay Shah.
